New Format and Some Updates...

As you may be able to see, I've updated the look of my site--thanks to Chris Barnette, who has a creative touch that I don't have time to have ;-). He develop the blogger template for me, and gave it to me a week ago.

I've also linked to a Wesleyan friend of mine, Daniel Hixon. I known him for some time and we had some very good and constructive theological conversations in the past.

Last thing, Laura and I have formally joined Instrouma Baptist Church. We've been visiting the church since late August, and it is a great church with friendly people.

Coming in the next few days, the final review or two of Blue Like Jazz, some more discussion on Christian Existentualism, and a review of Daniel's criticism of Calvinism.

Hey, so why aren't there category links on the side anymore? It's pretty hard to find a specific article of interest unless you just keep guessing what month it was posted in the Archive links?

Yeah, I wrestled with that and I lost, or rather, FTP published bloggers lost. The Labels functionality depends pretty heavily on Blogspot’s dynamic serving capability and widgetized or “drag and drop” layout design. If you are using FTP publishing, you can’t use the widgetized templates, and you can’t use the “Labels” list unless you have a widgetized template, there is no equivalent tag for classic templates. I don’t understand why they left the ability to label posts intact for FTP published blogs if they didn’t intend to use that capability in any meaningful way. There is a workaround (hack), but I’ll have to talk to Brent to see if he wants to go to the trouble of keeping up with it.

P.S. This, is one among many reasons why I switched to Wordpress ;-)
